Piotr and Justyna, who were living in the same rented property in Old Trafford for nearly 10 years, were researching their options when they came across Laurus Homes through the Shared Ownership Scheme.
“We’ve always wanted to buy a property together, but we weren’t sure we could afford it, especially after the wedding. However, earlier this year our landlord gave us notice that he was selling his rental property, so that gave us the motivation we needed to start looking for something else.”

“We first saw Lucy Street on Rightmove and organised a viewing as soon as we could. It was just 5 minutes away from where we used to live, which was great; it was centrally located near Cornbrook tram stop, and it was so much more affordable with Shared Ownership, so we couldn’t wait to have a look around”.
From there, Justyna said that they knew straight away this was their future home:
“As soon as we walked around the property, we could imagine ourselves living here. The layout was great, the appliances are top-of-the-range, and we loved that it was a new-build – we’d seen quite a few properties online that were over 50 years old, and were way more expensive”.
Piotr added: “While we were looking around, the Laurus staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. There was quite a lot of interest around the apartment as it was the last one available at the Old Trafford development, but we loved it so much that we reserved it that day even though it was the first one we looked around”.

It took around 10-12 weeks for their purchase to complete, but during this time Laurus Homes did everything they could to help Piotr and Justyna, and keep them updated wherever possible:

So it’s lovely and peaceful all the time
By the time completion came around, the couple were so eager to move into their new apartment they already had everything packed and ready to move before they even got the keys, and excitement that still hasn’t faded for the newlyweds:
“We’re settled in our new apartment now, and we couldn’t be happier – the apartment really does feel like home!”
“We love everything about our new home, especially how quiet our building is. There are only two apartments in our block, so it’s lovely and peaceful all the time – we even had to check that someone lives in the flat below because it’s so quiet!”
