Sensory garden in Ignol

Sensory Garden Opens Thanks to Laurus Homes Funding

A new sensory garden is flowering

——

A new sensory garden is flowering in Ingol thanks to a £4,500 grant from Laurus Homes. The garden, which opened this week at the Intact Centre in Ingol, Preston, comprises different areas providing volunteers and staff with opportunities to ‘clear and heal the minds of visitors’.

Laurus, which is building 250 new homes at D’urton Grange in nearby Fulwood with construction partner Willmott Dixon, provided the grant as part of its commitment to supporting the communities where they are creating new homes.

Denise Hartley MBE, Intact Chief Executive Officer, said: “The garden will be such a usable space for activities and events and anyone unable to access the nature reserve will most certainly enjoy this attractive space if they love nature. It will be a lovely extension to the centre, bringing the outside in.

Graeme Scott, Executive Director, said: “We are delighted to support this new garden, which promises to be a real asset to the community and a great addition to the area.  At Laurus Homes we have a commitment to leave a positive and lasting legacy in the communities where we are building homes, and our support for this new garden is a big part of that goal.”
