In addition to private sales and Shared Ownership options, we offer Rent to Buy agreements on some of our homes that can ease the transition from renting to getting a foot onto the housing ladder.
Designed by the government, the Rent to Buy scheme enables you to rent a new build at below the market rate for a specified period of time. This is intended to help you build up your savings for a deposit. At any point during your lease, you’re free to make an offer to purchase your home outright or to buy part of it under a Shared Ownership scheme. When your lease comes to an end, if you’ve decided not to buy all of part of your home, you can simply move out. The choice is yours.
To be considered eligible for Rent to Buy, your household must earn no more than £60,000 a year. You can either be a first-time buyer or someone who used to own a home but can’t afford to buy one now at current market rates.
