TRAFFORD HOUSING DEVELOPER SMASHES FUNDRAISER TARGET

Tackling our borough's crisis

——

A Trafford housing developer has raised over £5,500 for the borough’s crisis fund thanks to a 120-mile fundraiser.

Smashed it

The Laurus Homes team, part of Trafford Housing Trust, smashed their original target of £ 1,128 – roughly £10 per mile – thanks to generous donations from partners and contractors.

The team visited 17 of their developments across the North West towards the end of August, including sites in Sale, Altrincham, Timperley, Stretford and Partington.

Trafford Crisis Fund

All the money raised is going to the Trafford Crisis Fund, which was established to help people access basic provisions such as food and medication during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as making sure that those who are lonely and at risk have someone to talk to.

Will Hopcroft, one of the organisers of the fundraiser from Trafford Housing Trust’s Planning and Development department, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted with the money raised, which far exceeded our expectations, and we’d like to thank everyone that donated.  Trafford Crisis Fund is providing vital support to the most vulnerable people in the borough during the Coronavirus pandemic, and we would encourage anyone who is able to please support it.”

Donations to the Trafford Crisis Fund can be made via a JustGiving page.
