Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the Laurus Homes website, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Laurus Homes website:

1. Aria attributes: some [aria-*] attributes do not have valid values. Assistive technologies, like screen readers, can't interpret ARIA attributes with invalid values. This will be resolved by further web development, which we are addressing across the site, aiming to resolve accessibility barriers as soon as possible.

  1. Image elements do not have [alt] attributes: some pages lack informative elements that should present as short, descriptive alternate text. This will be resolved by further web development, which we are addressing across the site, aiming to resolve accessibility barriers as soon as possible.

  2. Some <frame> or <iframe> elements do not have a title: screen reader users rely on frame titles to describe the contents of frames. This will be resolved by further web development, which we are addressing across the site, aiming to resolve accessibility barriers as soon as possible.

  3. Some pages contain interactive elements that do not indicate their purpose and state: this can lead to a detrimental experience for users of screen readers. This will be resolved by further web development, which we are addressing across the site, aiming to resolve accessibility barriers as soon as possible.

  4. There may not be a function to focus a user to new content added to the page: this can lead to a detrimental experience for users of screen readers. This will be resolved by further web development, which we are addressing across the site, aiming to resolve accessibility barriers as soon as possible.

  5. Some custom controls lack ARIA roles. Users of screen readers and other assistive technologies need information about the behaviour and purpose of controls on your web page. Native HTML controls like buttons and radio groups come with that information built in. For custom controls, you create, however, you must provide the information with ARIA roles and attributes. This will be resolved by further web development, which we are addressing across the site, aiming to resolve accessibility barriers as soon as possible.

  6. [aria-*] attributes do not match their roles: each ARIA `role` supports a specific subset of `aria-*` attributes. Mismatching these invalidates the `aria-*` attributes. This will be resolved by further web development, which we are addressing across the site, aiming to resolve accessibility barriers as soon as possible.

  7. Elements with an ARIA [role] that require children to contain a specific [role] are missing some or all of those required children: some ARIA parent roles must contain specific child roles to perform their intended accessibility functions.
