Buying a new home is one of the most exciting things you can do in life. It’s a moment full of potential, hope and excitement. But moving home is also frequently listed as one of the most stressful experiences of your life too, because it comes with lots of potential complications and big decisions.

Here at Laurus, we want you to be able to enjoy the excitement and optimism of this new start without the stress and anxiety. That’s why we’ve created our Move Easy scheme, which is aimed at helping you move into your new dream home with no hassle.

Introducing Move Easy From Laurus Homes


Buying a new build home takes away many of the issues that can crop up, but one of the biggest stresses involved in moving is when you have an existing home that you need to sell before you can complete your purchase.

Move Easy is designed to ease that stress, because we'll go out of our way to find the right estate agent, the right price and the right buyer on your behalf to help you sell your home and get you into your new home nice and quickly.

But how does it work?

Firstly, and this is the exciting part, you need to find your dream Laurus home at one of our developments, safe in the knowledge that there’s not a big headache heading your way soon. Our experts will be there to guide you all the way.

Once you’ve started this process, you can start working with your Laurus Sales Advisor on completing a Move Easy application form. After this, we’ll get started by arranging for two local estate agents to carry out valuations of your current home, based on finding a buyer within four weeks.

Once your home has been appraised, we will suggest a selling price for your current home within those agreed timescales, then it’s up to you whether you want to go ahead. At this point we’ll reserve your Laurus home for you – you’ll pay half the usual reservation fee at this stage - for those four weeks, during which time no-one else can buy or reserve it.

After that, your work is done, and you can sit back and wait for updates from us on how the marketing of your existing home and viewings are going. These viewings will only ever happen when it suits you, of course, you’ll still be in full control of the selling process.

If there hasn’t been a buyer found after four weeks, we’ll discuss your options, which include getting a refund on the reservation fee you’ve paid us or having another look at the asking price and extending the selling period.

When we have found a buyer who can complete the purchase in time, you can complete your reservation agreement with us on your dream home!

Then we can help you get solicitors from a panel as well as new homes mortgage specialists who will act on your behalf and can help you complete your exchange within the reservation period with a minimum of fuss and stress.

When it’s all done and dusted and you’re getting ready to make your big move, we’ll even pay your estate agent fees up to £2,000 including VAT on legal completion of the sale of your existing home.
